Hello scholars! We have talked about environmental and health issues that affect out community here in the South Bronx. Use the comment section to list how environmental issues affect your daily life.
I would really like to have more green space around our environment. Also to try to make the South Bronx much healthier than it already is now!-Kelsey S.
The South Bronx has many concerns. The concern that I am most worried about is the fact that more children have a larger chance of getting asthma from the pollution that runs through the air. A way that we can fix this, is by changing the way trucks clean the streets and reducing the amount of speed the brushes on a truck that cleans streets has. Well thats only one solution. I want to see more park and want to smell less car fume cause that is the reason why I have asthma. Most of the family either have asthma or diabetes.Mariah
I also want to see more green space. We can use this space for good and for a lot of fun activities. Instead of wasting time and increasing pollution,we should be increasing on green space. This will help our community and make it better. I would also want our community to have more trees involved. -Taya
The South Bronx is a fun place to be there is a lot of activities. In Manhattan their is a violence. A lot of children like the Bronx because the Bronx communities have a lot of activities. Zacharia Bakayoko
i would like more people to recycle and have fun while doing it.Also more people cleaning parks and after their job is done they can play in it .i would like for this school to have a recycling group as well. - Lyanne
hi i am Steven i don't think that there is any problems in the Bronx because in my neighborhood is pretty good the park is clean and you can go there with out being scared of gangs are anything. My neighborhood is nice but sometimes they have fights over there. But at the same time my neighborhood can also be bad.
People in the South Bronx should see this. You people should be concerned in education then drugs. you should clean up instead of dirtying. no drugs and no liquor/ wine. Teens should stay out of gangs and be in organizations.-Gianni
Their should be more gyms and health groups and environmental stuff instead of wine and liquor shops and non healthy and educative stuff!. Keyanna 7th Grader
I think that the most important issue in the south Bronx is littering because littering has a lot of bad causes like death. Another really big problem is diabetes. Also a huge problem in the south Bronx is obesity. -Genesis R
